1985-89: B.A. (Hons.) in French and German at Leicester University (GB)

1989-90: Diploma for Postgraduate Bilingual Executive Assistants at Lancashire Polytechnic

Career:

1990 – 1996:

Bilingual correspondent at a manufacturer of drying equipment for the ceramic industry in Krumbach/Schwaben.

Tasks included translation of technical and commercial texts from English and French into German and from German into English and French, compiling and updating vocabulary lists, preparing trade fairs and organising travel

2005 – 2012:

Part-time bilingual correspondent at a distributor of acoustic soundproofing material in Memmingen.

Tasks include translating texts from English and French into German and from German into English and French, dealing with correspondence from overseas customers, processing orders from overseas and domestic customers, invoicing and updating the English and French website.

Freelance activities:

1994 – present: Freelance translator specialising in translations of technical, medical, commercial and legal texts from German into English (native language), reviewer of texts translated into English by other translators.

2000 – present: Tutor of English for adults with different levels of English at various language institutes including the VHS Memmingen as well as several in-company English courses in companies in and around Memmingen.

Teaching at the IFB Kempten:

since 2008: Subjects: Commercial Correspondence in the BFS, English Orthography and Oral Language Proficiency in the Fachakademie

What I particularly enjoy is passing on to students some of my own experience of working in international companies.
